Character Traits
  • There never was a better priest than the Parson.
  • He never swore, and always gave to the poor.
  • He was a man of his word, and practiced what he preached.
  • He was a dependable role model who portrayed leadership and kindness.
  • The Parson was a very honest guy who taught from and lived according to the bible.
  • He chose to turn down a job that would have brought him a lot of money, because he wanted to stay home and "shepherd his flock," or take care of his church people.
  • He has no illusions.

Physical Appearance
  • The text is not very clear as to what he looks like, but he is short, stout, and partially bald.
  • He carries a staff. Line 505.
  • In the original text, a picture is included of him dressed in a red robe, riding a horse.
